IES Liquids | Operations

IES Liquids has four main areas of operation – Aviation, LPG, Liquids and Terminal Management.

Aviation Division
The Aviation Division was established in 2003 following the commencement of aviation refuelling activities at Melbourne’s Tullamarine Airport. Today IES is responsible for refuelling over 70% of the aircraft landing at Tullamarine and over 90% of aircraft at Adelaide airport. IES Liquids also performs aircraft refuelling at Perth airport.

LPG Division
The LPG Division provides distribution services for propane, butane, autogas, propylene and anhydrous ammonia to major oil and gas merchants throughout Australia. The division is also responsible for the delivery of bitumen products from refineries to roadside maintenance crews assisting with the upgrade of Australia’s roads.

Ongoing implementation of the latest technological advances and an unsurpassed national infrastructure has helped the LPG Division to remain far and away the leader in its field. Individual trucks are able to be monitored and tracked and delivery point data is able to be transferred to customers in real time as a delivery is taking place.

Liquids Division
The Liquids Division provides distribution services for all petroleum and hazardous chemical products to major oil companies in both metropolitan and regional areas throughout Australia.

Examples of products moved include unleaded petrol, premium unleaded petrol, diesel, aviation fuel, oils and lubricants.

Terminal Management Division
The Terminal Management Division is currently responsible for the operation of two fuels terminals around Australia. The first terminal is located at Tullamarine Airport in Melbourne and supplies the aviation fuel used in the refuelling of aircraft using the airport. The second is an LPG terminal located adjacent to the BP Refinery in Brisbane.

Responsibilities of the Terminal Management Division include pipeline operation, receipt of product via both pipeline and tanker ship and transportation of the product into storage vessels, quality testing and authorisation for the release of product into the market.
