Greg Niven
General Manager, IES Liquids
Greg joined IES’s heritage company Cootes Transport in 1995 in an operations role which he held for two years before moving to Adelaide in 1997 to assume the position of South Australia Manager. In 2000, he returned to Melbourne to work with the LPG business before taking up the position of Victorian and Interstate Manager. In 2003, Greg transferred to Sydney to become National Manager of the Sydney Fuels and Cootes Liquids businesses. In 2006, Greg became General Manager of Cootes and was subsequently promoted to General Manager of IES Liquids.



Mark Anderson
National LPG and Bitumen Manager
Mark began driving trucks at the age of 18 for his family’s business, before joining Cootes in a casual position. He joined Cootes on a full time basis in 1988, moving into the emerging LPG division as a contract manager. Mark moved into the role of National LPG and Bitumen Manager in 2002, a position he has held since that time and one in which he makes full use of his more than 18 years experience in the industry.



Peter Pill
National Aviation and Compliance Manager
Peter joined Cootes in 1998, initially as a contract manager responsible for the Shell contract in Spotswood, and later as a manager in health and safety. In 2003, Peter also took on the management role for the Tullamarine Airport aviation refuelling contract. Today he is responsible for the Aviation Division of the business as well as overseeing IES Liquid’s health and safety responsibilities.



John McMilan
Liquids Linehaul Manager
John has over 28 years experience in the road transport industry. He joined Cootes in 2002 as a key member of the team involved in the integration of the Stevenson’s Transport acquisition with the existing Cootes business. John was appointed to his current role, Liquids Linehaul Manager in 2005.



Alan Yates
National Fleet Manager
In 1983, Alan joined Cootes as a driver working on metropolitan and interstate gas, fuel and bitumen deliveries. He moved into the scheduling office in the late 1980s and in 1994, was asked to relocate to Sydney to manage the NSW business. In 1998, Alan moved back to Melbourne, initially in an operational management role and later to his current role as National Fleet Manager, responsible for all equipment purchasing and maintenance workshops across Australia.



Brett Southgate
Northern Region LPG Manager
Brett was first exposed to the Cootes business in 1978 when his father began as a driver with the company. Soon after he acquired the coveted job of truck “Wash Boy” on weekends. After many years away from the business, he returned in 1994 as an LPG driver based in Sydney. In 1999 Brett moved into the operations side of the business as a contract manager on bulk LPG sales. Over the next seven years in continued in a number of operational roles before assuming his current position, responsible for the Queensland and New South Wales LPG businesses.



Matthew Blundell
Northern Zone Fuels Manager
Matthew joined Cootes in 1999 as Queensland’s Fuel and Bulk LPG Contract Manager. He continued to work while studying at the University of Southern Queensland to qualify as an Electrical Fitter Mechanic. In 2005, he moved to Victoria to take on the role of Victorian Fuels Manager before transferring back to NSW in 2006 in his current position.
