Rod Evans – CEO, IES Equipment
Rod is the General Manager of the IES Equipment division, having joined the company in October 2004. Rod has had extensive manufacturing and business management experience in Australia and overseas, after commencing his professional career in Australia working with Cadbury Confectionery, and also spending time managing Cadbury New Zealand’s Auckland Operations. In 1988, Rod joined what was to become Pacific Dunlop and later Nestle, with responsibility for managing the Plumrose, Leggos, and Yoplait operations in regional Victoria. In 1997, Rod accepted the position of Vice President – Australian Operations with Caterair Australia, servicing the airline, catering, logistics and cleaning industries. This led to a promotion to the USA with parent company LSG Sky Chefs, where ultimately he achieved the position of Southwest Region, Vice President of Operations. During this time Rod developed a strong interest and involvement with lean manufacturing / business excellence which led to the establishment of a business excellence consulting business on his return to Australian in 2003, prior to taking up a position with Liquip.
Rod holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree and has had undertaken extensive post graduate training.
Jeff Borg – President, Aviation Division USA (Beta Fluid Systems)
Jeff started with Liquip Melbourne in 1989 at the age of 19, in the sales department for tanker equipment, terminal loading equipment and spare parts. In 1994, he became Sales Manager for the Melbourne region and shortly afterwards led the push into the aviation vehicle and equipment market, which today represents a large portion of IES Equipment’s business and exports equipment all over the world. In 2002, Jeff was promoted to General Manager of the aviation division. In 2006 he was involved in the acquisition of Beta Fluid Systems in North Carolina, USA, and saw this as an opportunity for an exciting challenge in a new environment. After 18 years in Liquip’s Melbourne office he now resides in North Carolina and lead the IES Equipment Aviation Division in the USA as President.
Mark Scott – General Manager Liquip, Aviation Division
Mark is the General Manager of Liquip’s Aviation Division, having joined the company in July 2007 from Shell Australia. Mark has extensive experience in the oil industry globally, gained over a 20 year career with Shell, and returned to Australia in July 2006 after ten continuous years overseas. Mark’s career with Shell took him to many parts of Asia including Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and to Dubai. He has held positions mainly within operations, including roles in logistics, operational improvement, change management and general management. His last role prior to returning to Australia was as Operations Manager Middle East.
Mark holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree.
Tracey Hourd – General Manager, Equipment Division
Tracey commenced her career in the hospitality industry, as a trainer for JBA Australia, converting large five star hotels onto computerised systems from existing computerised or manual systems throughout Australia and the Pacific. In 1989, Tracey moved to London, spending seven years as Operations Director for Hotel Information Systems. Managing teams based in London, Paris and Austria, he customers included Euro Disney, Sheraton, InterContinental and the Devere Groups throughout Europe.
Tracey returned to Australia in 1996 and joined Liquip as Quality Manager and shortly after successfully achieved ISO9001 accreditation for Liquip. Tracey was promoted to General Manager on the retirement of one of the founding partners of Liquip in 1997 and today heads up the Manufacturing, Design and distribution of the Liquip International Equipment division based at Smithfield.
Andrew Joyce - Head of Sales and Marketing, Equipment Division
Andrew joined Liquip in June 2004 as Export Manager, responsible for the establishment and delivery of IES Equipment’s export growth strategy, development of new market portfolios and global distributor network. In late 2005, Andrew moved into the role of Equipment Division Sales Manager, also assuming sales responsibility for the Australian market.
An active member of the business leadership team, Andrew is also instrumental in guiding the IES Equipment Research & Development Committee for new product design. Andrew has owned, managed and successfully exited a variety of businesses ranging from food products manufacture to a contract sheet metal business. His passion for sales and marketing was developed during his time as a business owner-operator and combines well with his trade and professional qualifications in the building and engineering fields.
Ivan Lawrie - Global Sales and Marketing Manager, Aviation Division
Ivan joined Liquip in 1997 as Regional Sales Manager – Qld, focusing primarily on the mining and heavy industry fuels and lubricants segment before relocating to Liquip’s Sydney division to head the fledgling export division where he developed export markets, established a distribution network and gained significant market share across 35 countries. In 2004 Ivan left Liquip to further develop his business acumen and marketing skills as National Marketing Manager for Chubb Security Australia, where he introduced market segmentation and developed value propositions for the mining, utilities and critical infrastructure segments. Returning to Liquip in 2006 and based in Singapore, Ivan established Liquip India, and worked on the migration of manufacturing to China. He began his involvement with Liquip’s aviation refuelling business during his time in Singapore, representing Liquip’s aviation interests in Asia, before returning to Melbourne to replace the retiring sales manager.
Ivan has a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in marketing and communications, a Postgraduate Diploma of Marketing Management and a Master of Business Management.
